Remembering Erin is currently featured at a romance novel website (Longandshortreviews.com/LASR/index.htm), and there is a nice trailer on Youtube (go to Youtube.com and type in the title)…The bear attack in the story is emphasized more than I expected. I should say upfront that I have never been attacked by a bear, although I have seen three polar bears and about a dozen grizzlies while hiking in various parts of Alaska. A Fish & Wildlife official once told me that bears are like people – most are pretty good folks, and will mind their own business, but occasionally there’s a psycho in the mix that will attack and kill for no apparent reason. And of course a sow with cubs will attack out of that protective maternal instinct, which is the situation in the novel…Anyway, I feel fortunate that the grizzlies I saw in Alaska were all headed the other way – bear asses thrashing through the brush…Bear asses are not to be confused with bare asses; though it is interesting to note that while all bear asses are bare asses, not all bare asses are bear asses…Homophones, huh?
